JumboSec

Tufts University's Student-Run Cybersecurity and Policy Club

Who We Are

JumboSec's goal is to promote cybersecurity/policy knowledge and awareness in the Tufts community. We hold informational meetings, compete in various technical and policy-oriented competitions, and collaborate with our growing alumni network.

Members come from a broad array of majors and disciplines across the undergraduate Colleges and the Fletcher School. We believe that security knowledge is crucial for Computer Scientists and that communication is just as (if not more) important than technical ability. We welcome everyone to JumboSec regardless of background or technical expertise.

Weekly Meetings

Our weekly meetings feature hands-on trainings, discussions, and guest speakers.

Join us Sundays at 5pm in SEC/Anderson 208 on Zoom. See our Slack for meeting details.

Competitions

We train members to compete in security competitions such as CTFs and threat intelligence simulations. In recent years, members have seen success at the Atlantic Council's Cyber 9/12 competition and MITRE's E-CTF.

Collaborations

JumboSec collaborates often with other clubs, such as CSX, JumboCode, WiCS, and the Fletcher Cybersecurity Working Group. We enjoy connecting current students with our extensive alumni network, and we aim to help increase the number of Tufts graduates working in cybersecurity.

Link with Faculty

JumboSec serves as a conduit for students interested in security and policy to interact with faculty working in this space. Click here for more information about the broader cyber security and policy initiative at Tufts.
